BUFORD - A 23-year-old Buford motorcyclist died Tuesday night after a collision with a vehicle, police said.
Christopher Kiley died from injuries suffered when the off-road motorcycle he was riding struck a 1999 Mercedes ML320 in Buford. The collision occurred about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bluffton Road and White Bluff Way.
Police said Kiley was westbound on Bluffton Road when the driver unintentionally turned into his path.
Kiley, who was not wearing a helmet, was traveling on the road illegally without using a headlight, said Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli.
"Due to the dark conditions, the (driver) was unable to see the motorcycle before she turned," Schiralli said.
Kiley was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he later died.
Schiralli said investigators do not expect to press charges against the driver of the car.
The investigation is ongoing, he said.
