LOGANVILLE - No Winder-Barrow High School students were seriously injured in a traffic collision involving their school bus Friday night after the football game against Rockdale County High, a school district spokeswoman said Saturday.
The bus filled with band students was on Ga. Highway 81 in Loganville heading back toward Barrow County. The school bus was about eight miles from the Barrow-Walton county line at about 10:45 p.m. when a car pulled out in front of it and was T-boned, Barrow County Schools spokeswoman Lisa Leighton said.
"It was totally unavoidable," said Leighton, who added that police found the car's driver was at fault. A Georgia State Patrol report was unavailable Saturday.
The collision trapped the driver of the car inside her vehicle, Leighton said. She was transported by life flight to a hospital for treatment. Her passenger also needed medical attention.
Leighton said at least 40 students were on the bus. One student suffered a bloody nose, and another was treated at the scene for anxiety. The bus driver was uninjured.
