LAWRENCEVILLE - For eight continuous hours Saturday, downtown Lawrenceville will be all about ribs and rock 'n' roll.
The pairing of food and music during the second annual Rock N' Rib Fest will include barbecue, ribs, beer and a music lineup that features the Woody's, My Friend Ian's Band and the Tom Petty tribute band Heavy Petty.
Football fans who don't want to miss any of the gridiron action Saturday won't have to - new to this year's event is the sports zone featuring high-definition broadcasts of Saturday's big games.
Offering up what organizers say is something for everyone, the event will include a kid zone, where children can zip down inflatable slides, bounce around in moonwalks and have their faces painted.
More fall fun
Fall is for festivals, and Sugar Hill will join the ranks of other Gwinnett cities that have hosted events this season during its ninth annual fall festival.
E. E. Robinson Park will be filled with carnival games, arts and crafts vendors, a petting zoo, a giant rock wall, an inflatable obstacle course and rides, a car show and a motorcycle show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine. The event is set to feature both home and wellness expos, the Sugar Maple 5K race, a parade and an appearance by Harlem Globetrotter Michael Douglas.
Festivalgoers will receive a free ride pass with the donation of a bag of items for the festival's food drive.
