Frank W. Williams, Jr., 85, of Goose Creek, SC, the widower of Opal (Bonnie) A. Williams, died Friday, October 9, 2009 in Charleston, SC. Born September 25, 1924 in Lynchburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Frank W. Williams, Sr. and Pearl Hughes Williams. Frank was a US Navy veteran of WWII having served on the USS Dickerson. While living in Atlanta, GA, in the 1990's he helped organize their reunion. He retired as a buyer after 30 years with Butler Shoe Corporation in Atlanta, GA. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Charleston, WV and was a Mason in Gwinnett County, Atlanta, GA. He enjoyed dining at Perkins in Summerville, SC; where he was known as “Mr. Sweet Tea”. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie on December 24, 2002; one brother and three sisters. He is survived by his daughter: Rita Williams; son: Johnny F. Williams; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, October 13th at Fort Mill Memorial Park, Lynchburg, VA, with Military honors provided by the American Legion Post 16.
