KENNESAW - Hebron Christian compiled 386 yards of total offense - 269 on the ground - and stifled North Cobb Christian to just 91 total yards in rolling to a 33-0 win Friday night in Kennesaw.
Xavier Railey ran for 155 yards and a touchdown as the Lions (5-1) posted their fifth straight win an second of the season over NCCS. They defeated the Eagles 21-14 just two weeks ago. It took just 3:30 for Hebron to get on the board as Matt Pursell capped a five-play, 53-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run to give the Lions a 7-0 lead. The Lions added two more scores in the second quarter to take a 21-0 lead into halftime, and the rout was on. Pursell finished with 114 yards of total offense. Meanwhile, the other half of Hebron's quarterback tandem - Paul Stinespring - was 5 of 7 for 77 yards, including a 27-yard scoring strike to Robert Hunt, and added 21 yards on the ground. The Lions' defense also had a big night, led by Matt Stephens' eight tackles, including a sack, and seven stops and a sack by Tyler Smith.More like this story
