Two men rob Barrow bank

BETHLEHEM - Barrow County authorities are looking for two men they said robbed a bank Thursday afternoon, making off with about $11,000.

According to reports, the men held up the Community Bank and Trust at 12 Angel St. just after 4 p.m. By the time sheriff's deputies arrived minutes later, the men had already fled.

According to witnesses, one man wore black jeans, a gray sweater, gray shoes and dark-colored work gloves. The second man wore a red, long-sleeved pullover, blue jeans and white latex gloves. Both men wore nylon stocking masks and caps, authorities said, leaving investigators unsure as to the men's race.

The men fled in a black, late-model sport utility vehicle, possible a Land Rover or Range Rover, Barrow County sheriff's spokesman Maj. Todd Druse said.

"Neither of the two employees on duty in the bank at the time of the robbery were injured," Druse said in a release.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's Criminal Investigations Unit at 770-307-3080, ext. 3093.
