SNELLVILLE - A woman sustained minor burns Tuesday night when a house in the 8500 block of Lake Drive in Snellville caught fire, officials said.
Firefighters found heavy smoke issuing from the two-story home about 10:30 p.m. but were able to extinguish the blaze in 30 minutes, said Fire Department spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge. The fire was mostly contained to a first-story room near a garage, Rutledge said. The woman, who was the home's lone occupant, was treated and released at the scene by paramedics. The cause is under investigation, Rutledge said.More like this story
