Real estate agents invited to catch Aurora's new show

LAWRENCEVILLE - Borrowing a home showing method from the real estate industry, the Aurora Theatre will host an agent caravan today for a preview performance of its latest production.

Just as listing agents entice buyers' agents into a home with incentives such as food or prizes, the Lawrenceville theater is offering free admission for licensed real estate agents to see "Buy My House ... Please!"

The play follows a young married couple facing foreclosure, job loss and the impending birth of their first child as their over-eager realtor convinces them to appear on a reality television show.

"Because the show is about the kind of reality TV shows that help home owners by bringing in a designer to 'stage' the home for dramatic results and hopefully a quick sale, we know that it will be of particular enjoyment to folks in the real estate industry and their clients going through or recently having gone through the home buying/selling process," said Al Stilo, director of sales and marketing for the Aurora. "We even have some agents who will be framing their listings and we are planning to display them in the lobby during the run of the show as our lobby art."

Real estate agents should bring a business card to the theater box office before tonight's performance at 8 p.m. to get their free ticket. Admission to the preview performance will be $10, with all Gwinnett County Schools students, faculty and staff admitted for $5.

"Buy My House ... Please!" officially opens Thursday.
