DULUTH - The Gwinnett Gladiators were assigned another NHL contracted player.
The Minnesota Wild moved forward Brian Kaufman from AHL Houston to Gwinnett on Sunday and he arrived Monday.
Kaufman is a 6-foot-4, 205-pound rookie out of Miami (Ohio) University. The 25-year-old Minnesota native finished with 84 points in 125 games at Miami, including a career high 37 as a junior.
Two other players also got into town and practiced with the team, Chad Denny from AHL Chicago and Drew Paris from AHL Syracuse.
Gwinnett's training camp continues with on-ice workouts today and Wednesday from 12:10-2:10 p.m. at the IceForum in Duluth before the team heads to Florida for a pair of exhibition games. The Gladiators' last game was against the same Everblades, an elimination game in the first round of the ECHL playoffs last April. The teams meet again Friday and Saturday.
Gwinnett will be back at practice Monday with another session at the IceForum. The Gladiators seventh season opens Oct. 17 at home against the Wheeling Nailers.
