NORCROSS - A Tucker man is expected to survive injuries sustained in a shooting at a Norcross nightclub Sunday.
The shooting happened about 1 a.m. as revelers spilled from Lonestar, a club at 1210 Rockbridge Road, according to a Gwinnett police report released Wednesday. Witnesses told police several shots rang out from an unknown location. As people dispersed, the lone victim, Richard Darrell, 21, yelled to friends he'd been shot in the left side, the report says. Friends drove Darrell to a fire station in DeKalb County. From there, Fire Department personnel transported him to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where he underwent surgery. Medical staff said Darrell's wound was not life-threatening, the report says. Gwinnett police spokesman Officer Brian Kelly said a description of the shooter or shooters wasn't available Wednesday. A motive for the shooting is under investigation. The victim was last known to be in stable condition, Kelly said.More like this story
