LAWRENCEVILLE -- Polls will be open today in Gwinnett's two biggest cities.
Open council seats are up for grabs in Lawrenceville, where Katie Hart Smith and John Merrill face off, and Duluth, in a race between Elise Whitworth and Billy Jones.
While a slow turnout is expected, candidates are urging their supporters to cast ballots at the two city halls. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The day will also be the finale in the contested race to pick Atlanta's mayor between Mary Norwood and Kasim Reed.
