LETTERS: SPCA thankful for donations to animal shelter

As a volunteer and speaking on behalf of the Georgia Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, we wish to thank the Gwinnett Daily Post for the article "Pets in the poorhouse" (Nov. 21, Page 1A). Also, a heartfelt "thank you" to the many people who responded by making monetary donations and bringing supplies to the shelter.

Consequently, the Georgia SPCA is still in need of grant sponsorship. We realize that economic challenges remain a big factor, but hopefully someone will come through for us. Until then we rely on the generosity of the public to help us see our way through this crisis.

As a reminder, we still have many dogs and cats needing homes. Adoption fees for dogs are $250, kittens are $125 and adult cats are $100.
