James A. “Jim” Caples, age 84, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 21, 2009. He is survived by his loving and faithfully devoted wife Nelda Posey Caples, nieces, Cynthia and Sam Waller, Betty and Jimmy Gore, nephews, Richard Hartley, Ronnie Morgan, and Charles Morgan all of MS. Sisters in laws, Velda and Harold Philpot and Betty Ezzell all of Buchanan, GA, many other nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Jim was born in Mantee, MS and was a graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). After graduation he spent 34 years in Education as a Teacher and Principal retiring in 1981as Principal of Dacula High School. Jim was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII, A Mason and member of the Lawrenceville Masonic Lodge #131 F&AM. Jim would have received his 50 Year Masonic Pin on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 but was in the hospital. Jim was a member and former President of the Gwinnett Retired Teachers Association, and member of the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville. Jim and Nelda would have celebrated their 56 wedding anniversary on December 19, 2009. They enjoyed the many friends they have met over the years eating out most every day at various restaurants around town. The Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Jim Caples will be at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. Rev. Dr. Davis Chappell and Rev. Bill Childers will officiate. Interment will follow in the Field of Honor Section at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the service at 3:00 P.M.
