NORCROSS -- Police are looking for the gunman in a Thursday night double-shooting at an apartment complex near Norcross.
Two men were shot inside a vehicle at the Valencia Park apartments at 3500 Peachtree Corners Circle, near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.
Police identified the victims as Darrell Stringer, 23, and Keiven Rhodes, 19, both of Norcross. They remain in critical condition at an area hospital, Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli said Friday.
"The shooter was in the car when he shot both people," Schiralli said.
Schiralli said each man was shot once. He wouldn't disclose where they were physically hit.
"We have a motive, but we're not releasing that either at this time," he said.
Another person in the vehicle at the time attempted to drive both victims to a hospital. Instead, the driver happened upon a Gwinnett patrol officer at the intersection of Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Buford Highway.
"The driver flagged down the officer and summoned for help," Schiralli said.
A medical unit responded and whisked both men to an undisclosed hospital. The investigation will continue.
