LAWRENCEVILLE -- More than 120 schools will get new principals this week -- but only for a day.
Business and community leaders will visit 121 Gwinnett County schools for the sixth annual Principal for a Day program, which takes place during American Education Week.
"We are excited to welcome members of our Gwinnett community to our schools this week," said Jorge Quintana, spokesman for Gwinnett County Public Schools.
"The Principal for a Day program is one that we look forward to every year. It presents us with the opportunity to teach others about the work that goes on in our schools as we educate the children that will become Gwinnett's leaders of tomorrow."
The joint venture of Gwinnett County Public Schools and the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce allows CEO-level leaders to observe the rewards and challenges that come with being the instructional and managerial leader of a public school.
Last year, 110 community members participated in the program.
