BUFORD -- BrandsMart USA is now awarding the prizes offered up in celebration of the grand opening of its Gwinnett location.
Atlanta resident Ron Vanduyne was the lucky winner of a brand new Smart Car, a two-person mini-automobile offering high fuel efficiency.
"BrandsMart USA is always looking for joint promotions that make sense with our media associates," said Ellen Stevens, vice president of marketing. "When BrandsMart USA discussed the direction of the eco-friendly building and our green initiatives, WGCL -- CBS 46 took the liberty of approaching the Smartcenter of Buckhead about a grand opening promotion. It was a win-win situation for both of us. We had the pleasure of being able to have one of our customers win the automobile."
The discount consumer appliance, electronics and housewares retailer opened an 118,000-square-foot octagonal showroom in Buford in August, complete with environmentally friendly technology including a daylight harvesting system that reduces the need for electricity during daylight hours, rooftop systems to collect rainwater for irrigation and landscaping specifically chosen for low water usage.
BrandsMart has also committed to using only low emitting materials for adhesives, sealants, paints, coatings and carpets during construction to contribute to better air quality.
According to BrandsMart USA, although four stores were participating in the grand opening giveaways celebrating the Buford location, almost 40 percent of the winners were from registrations here in Gwinnett, including the winners of the three major kitchen packages.
