Wolves' Welton commits to UGA baseball
Wesleyan two-sport standout Conor Welton has given a verbal commitment to the University of Georgia baseball program.
The 6-foot, 180-pound senior was a first-team all-county selection as an outfielder last season, hitting ,404 with eight home runs, 27 RBIs and 21 stolen bases in helping the Wolves to their second straight state championship. Welton -- who chose the Bulldogs over offers from several other schools, including Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt -- is also one of Gwinnett's top football quarterbacks.
