ATLANTA -- As the runoff for Atlanta mayor gears up, state Sen. Kasim Reed is getting a plug from another Democrat whose race went into extra innings.
Jim Martin -- who was in a runoff last year against Republican U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss -- announced his endorsement of Reed on Monday afternoon.
Martin lost his bid to unseat Chambliss after a high-profile runoff that drew political heavyweights from both parties to Georgia.
Reed is facing off against City Councilwoman Mary Norwood in a Dec. 1 runoff after neither won more than 50 percent of the vote last week.
