'Armored' truck to make stop in Lawrenceville
LAWRENCEVILLE -- A specially designed armored truck will arrive at Discover Mills about a month before the film it is promoting is set to be released.
The truck will be parked between the AMC theater and Dave & Buster's and is outfitted with flat screen TVs that will be showing the movie trailer for "Armored" starring Matt Dillon, Columbus Short and Laurence Fishburne.
The truck will roll in with movie swag for the first 100 guests and will offer giveaways and prizes throughout the two-hour event.
"Armored" is set to be released Dec. 4.
Cat club to host annual show
DULUTH -- On Saturday, 225 felines and their proud owners will descend upon the Gwinnett Center for the Cotton States Cat Club's 71st annual show.
Cotton States is the second oldest Cat Fanciers' Association Cat Club in the United States producing consecutive annual shows.
The public is invited to attend the event, which, in addition to the judging portion of the show, will include vendors and exhibitors.
The event will open at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children. For more information, visit www.cottonstatescatclub.org.
