SAVANNAH -- The Savannah Film Festival has presented actress Emmy Rossum with its Young Hollywood Award and screened her new independent film, "Dare."
The 23-year-old actress starred in the 2004 film version of "The Phantom of the Opera" and received a Golden Globe nomination.
Her other credits include "Mystic River," ''Poseidon" and "The Day After Tomorrow." She accepted the award Monday night.
"Dare" follows three teenagers through their last semester of school as they take big risks before they have to enter the world of adults.
"I'm just excited that 'Dare' is coming out November 13 in New York and LA. It's always exciting when you work on a tiny film, which is more similar to what my roots are," Rossum said.
