LAWRENCEVILLE - During the first two weeks of November, several Gwinnett County schools will be collecting clothing for flood victims.
The drive is organized by school psychologists, and the event coincides with School Psychology Awareness Week, which is Nov. 9 to 13, said Odalis Smith, a school psychologist at Summerour Middle School.
Parents and community members interested in donating items should contact their local school to see if the school is participating in the drive, Smith said.
The collected items will be delivered to the American Red Cross and other organizations assisting flood victims.
Gwinnett County Public Schools has 57 school psychologists that work with students in prekindergarten through high school.
Earlier this year, the Georgia Association of School Psychologists gave the school system the Innovative Practices award, Smith said.
