Jerry and Nancy Holbrook of Lawrenceville and Mark and Betty Crowell of Buford announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Leigh Holbrook of Buford, to Mitchum Bradley Parker of Conway, Ark., son of Leonard and Evelyn Parker of Bremen.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Buford Appling and the late Grace Appling of Dacula and the late Herschel and Robbie Mae Holbrook. She is a 1999 graduate of Dacula High School, a 2002 graduate of Gainesville College and a 2004 graduate of Medical College of Georgia where she received a bachelor's degree in nursing and graduated magna cum laude. She is employed with the Gwinnett Medical Hospital System as a registered nurse.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Harlin Buck and Inez Parker of Buford and the late Brady and Sadie Mulkey. He is a 1996 graduate of West Hall High School, a 1999 graduate of Gainesville College where he received an Associates Degree in Health and Physical Education, a 2001 graduate of the University of Georgia where he received his bachelor' degree in health and human performance, and a 2005 graduate of the University of Alabama where he received a master's in kinesiology. He will be graduating in August from the University of Alabama with his Ph.D. in sport pedagogy. He is employed with the University of Central Arkansas as a professor.
The wedding is planned for July 24 at Vecoma at the Yellow River.
