SNELLVILLE - About 60 property owners along the U.S. Highway 78 corridor unanimously voted Thursday to keep the Evermore Community Improvement District intact.
Every six years, the property owners must decide whether to terminate the CID, said Forrest Adair, chairman of the CID board of directors. The CID is an association of property owners that voluntarily tax themselves to improve the community's quality of life. Property owners also re-elected Kenny King and Emory Morsberger to their posts on the board. David Stedman, who the board recently rehired as the CID's economic development coordinator, said he was "very happy" property owners decided to keep the CID intact. "I think the problems anyone might have had with the CID were resolved favorably by the judge's ruling" that a recent recall of two board members was legal, Stedman said. "I think that was borne out by the voters today." The recall of those board members cleared the way for the firing of Executive Director Brett Harrell.More like this story
