Gwinnett kids can become Super Duper Mini Chefs this weekend.

Simon Kidgits Club, a children's membership club through Simon Malls, invites aspiring young cooks to come out for fun with food at the Discover Mills Mall food court Saturday, where they can make cereal necklaces, lollipop flowers and their own blend of trail mix to eat with ice cream.

Every aspiring chef needs an apron and those who attend can customize their own to take home.

A Simon Kidgits Club membership is not required to attend Saturday's event, and kids are invited to bring along nonperishable food items that will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Concerts planned

Gwinnett residents can enjoy three scheduled concerts this weekend.

The Stone Mountain Chorus will perform Saturday, featuring the Stone Mountain Barbershop Chorus and a special appearance by the quartet State Line Grocery.

The performance, "Harmony Collage," will begin at 3 p.m. at Mountain Park United Methodist Church, 1405 Rockbridge Road in Stone Mountain. Tickets are $15 at the door. For more information on this concert, call 770-978-8053 or visit www.stonemountainchorus.org.

The city of Duluth will host its first-ever Blues on the Green event featuring Ross Bon and the Mighty Blue Kings at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The Mall of Georgia Summer Concert Series will continue Saturday with the Mike Rogers Band taking the amphitheater stage at 6:30 p.m., followed by a showing of the movie "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" for Movies Under the Stars.
