Man pleads not guilty in rapper's slaying

LOS ANGELES - A man accused of murder in the shooting death of Atlanta rapper Dolla at a Los Angeles mall has pleaded not guilty.

Aubrey Berry entered the plea to murder and assault charges in a Los Angeles courtroom Friday morning.

The 23-year-old Snellville man remains jailed on $5 million bail. His attorney, Howard Price, plans to ask for bail reduction at a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

Berry was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday, hours after police say he shot and killed Dolla in the valet area of an upscale mall. Berry's lawyer said the shooting was self-defense.

Aiken sounds off on Lambert

NEW YORK - Clay Aiken is no fan of Adam Lambert.

The 'American Idol' also-ran has blasted this season's runner-up on his Web site, mocking Lambert's rendition of 'Ring of Fire' as 'contrived,' 'awful' and 'slightly frightening.'

Aiken lost out to Ruben Studdard in 2003. He's since released several albums, appeared on Broadway and publicly confirmed he's gay.

'Idol' runner-up ready to put music first

LOS ANGELES - When it comes to Adam Lambert, the theater's loss will be music's gain.

The 'American Idol' runner-up said that he intends to focus on becoming a recording artist. Lambert, who appeared in a touring company of 'Wicked' and other stage productions, said he's not turning his back on the stage but instead going in another direction: the music world.

Lambert placed second to 23-year-old Kris Allen of Conway, Ark.
