LAWRENCEVILLE - The Gwinnett County Board of Education approved a successor to retiring McKendree Elementary School principal Cindy Antrim, officials announced Thursday.
Loretta Denmark, an assistant principal at Nesbit Elementary, will become the second principal of McKendree Elementary, which opened in 1988 in Lawrenceville. Her appointment is effective July 1. Denmark, who began her career in education in 1977, has worked for Gwinnett County Public Schools since 2001, serving as a fourth-grade teacher at J.C. Magill Elementary and an assistant principal at Fort Daniel and Nesbit elementary schools. A member of the school system's Quality-Plus Leader Academy, a training program for aspiring principals, Denmark has a master's degree in early childhood education and is certified in educational leadership and as a teacher support specialist. She is working on her doctoral degree from Mercer University.More like this story
