LOS ANGELES - A Snellville man has been arrested in Los Angeles, accused of killing Atlanta-based rapper Dolla at a Beverly Hills mall Monday afternoon.
According to jail records, Aubrey Louis Berry, 23, was booked into the Los Angeles County Detention Center on suspicion of murder charges at about 1 a.m. Tuesday. A Los Angeles International Airport police spokesman told the Associated Press Berry was found at the airport with a 9mm semiautomatic handgun. "As the officers approached the suspect, they asked him 'Do you know why we're here?'" Sgt. Jim Holcomb told the AP. "He put his (hands) up in the air and said, 'Yes, I've got a gun in my waistband. Don't shoot me.'" Police said the 21-year-old rapper, born Roderick Anthony Burton II, had been involved in some sort of altercation at the Beverly Center before being shot in the head at about 3 p.m. as he waited at a valet stand. He later died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Burton was signed to popular artist Akon's record label, Konvict Muzik, and reportedly arrived in Los Angeles Monday. According to jail records, Berry has no previous arrests in Gwinnett County. He is being held on $1 million bond.More like this story
