ZONING CASES - ON THE AGENDA: Here's a look at rezonings and other requests the Gwinnett County Planning Commission will consider today. The panel meets 7 p.m. at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville.
1. RZC-08-084 & SUP-08-066 & SUP-08-067 & SUP-08-068: Rezone 8.96 acres from single-family residence district to office and institutional district and grant special-use permits to allow for 141,596 square feet of a senior assisted living facility, a free-standing day care center and to allow a height increase on the senior facility from three stories to four. Location is the 5700 block of Spalding Drive. Planning department recommended approval with conditions. 2. SUP-09-010: Requested special-use permit in a general-business district on 1.47 acres in a 2,500-square-foot facility to allow for a coin laundry operation. Location is the 6400 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and the 6900 block of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Planning department recommended approval with conditions. 3. SUP-09-027: Applicant requests a special-use permit in a single-family residence district to allow for a summer day camp and an after school child day care on a 7.93-acre parcel. Location is the 3000 block of Wallace Road. Planning department recommended denial. 4. SUP-09-029: Requested special-use permit in a general-business district to allow for a 5,500-square-foot pawn shop on 2 acres. Location is the 200 block of Athens Highway and the 200 block of Hill Street. Planning department recommended approval with conditions.More like this story
