LAWRENCEVILLE - The Gwinnett County Police Department will host a job fair Saturday as it looks for a few good men and women to join its ranks.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the department will accept police officer applications at the Gwinnett County Police Training Center at 854 Winder Highway. Applicants will also go through a preliminary orientation and initial testing. Applications will be on hand at the job fair, said Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli, but those interested are "highly encouraged" to complete an online application beforehand.
Starting salary for police officer trainees is $35,023, while those already certified as police officers will start off at $37,648. The department also offers an incremental $2,000 hiring incentive, an educational differential and up to $1,500 in relocation allowance.
