LAWRENCEVILLE - If only forever stamps cost the same amount forever.
The U.S. Postal Service will increase the price of first-class stamps on Monday by two cents from 42 to 44 cents. The price increase was announced in February. The increase means the cost of forever stamps is going up as well. Like first-class stamps, they'll cost 44 cents. But once purchased, forever stamps are good even if the cost of postage increases. So if you've previously purchased forever stamps, they're still good. Postcard stamps also increase Monday, going up a penny. The new cost is 28 cents.
