Police look at possible links in 2 garage attacks

ATLANTA - Atlanta police said they're looking at the possibility that attacks on two college students in parking garages at apartment complexes are related.

Georgia Tech student Patrick Whaley was reported in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital on Wednesday. Police said the 22-year-old Whaley was shot Monday night at an off-campus apartment complex.

They said he was shot after three armed men ordered him into a van and he refused.

Police said that less than 24 hours earlier, Georgia State student Carsten Singh was held up by three men in a garage half a mile away. The 22-year-old Singh was shot in the leg and was treated at Grady.
