Summertime trips on trains as a child led to Stan Susky's fascination with this mode of transportation.

The Lawrenceville resident has combined his love of photography and his fascination with trains for an exhibit on display at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse titled "I Dream of Trains."

An amateur and primarily self-taught photographer, Susky, 52, has been looking through the lens of a camera for about 30 years. After visiting the Southeastern Railway Museum,

the Lawrenceville

resident decided train cars might make a good subject.

"It's kind of a combination of I like photography a lot and I've always had a fascination for trains," Susky said.

"I Dream of Trains" is Susky's first exhibit of photography in Gwinnett County and will be on display through July 29.

National Train Day

Model trains will cross bridges, snake through tunnels and chug past villages, towns and airports on more than a thousand feet of tracks at Vines Garden on Saturday.

Celebrating National Train Day, the Vines Garden Railroad will be up and running for the public to watch as the G-scale trains, both steam and diesel, make their way around the Gwinnett park.
