Impact Live event taking place today

DULUTH - Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus are just two of the names on today's speaking list for Duluth-based Giant Impact's Maximum Impact Live event taking place at the Georgia World Congress Center.

The seminar is a one-day leadership training symposium in which the 10 speakers will address a variety of leadership topics from how to embrace change to the keys to building strong teams.

Other speakers on the list include Ernie Johnson from TNT and its 'Inside the NBA' program, Al Weiss, the president of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and Linda Kaplan Thaler, CEO, author and the creator of the Aflac ad campaign.

"The event provides extremely valuable leadership insights from world-class communicators," said Giant's Vice President David Hoyt. "It's a rare opportunity to hear these experts within your own community and simultaneously develop business relationships with other local leaders."

With more than 1,000 people expected to attend, the event is also being broadcast over a private digital satellite feed to more than 500 participating companies. It's estimated that via this route, more than 60,000 business professionals will tune in.

Demming Bass, a past attendee and the vice president of marketing and public policy for the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, said the event and those who go are both "top notch."

"The event is unique in that you hear from some of the most cutting edge business leaders in the world in a relatively short amount of time," Bass said. "I enjoyed meeting the other high-powered entrepreneurs and business leaders that were in attendance during the breaks."
