County to receive road funds

LAWRENCEVILLE - Gov. Sonny Perdue signed off Tuesday on $187 million in road projects to be funded with stimulus dollars, including enhancements to U.S. Highway 29 in Lilburn.

The two projects would improve the intersections at Pleasant Hill and Beaver Ruin roads and are expected to cost nearly $20 million in total.

Perdue's list was the second to be certified for the state's share of road projects.

Gwinnett projects to extend McGinnis Ferry Road and widen the Ga. Highway 324 bridge over Interstate 85 with stimulus funds are still awaiting the governor's certification.
