Mr. Leonard Miller, age 96 1/2, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, May 1, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hassie Chapman Miller. He was the last surviving child of late Eli and Emily Miller of Lula, GA. He is survived by: his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly M. and William E. (Bud) Sears, III, Sugar Hill, GA; grandchildren, Emily S. and Dr. Michael D. Warlick, Jr., Flowery Branch, GA and William E. (Wes) Sears, IV, Sugar Hill, GA, and Susan S. and Kevin P. Sharp, Harpenden, England; great grandchildren, Jocelyn E. Sears, William E. (Will) Sears, V, Madison E. Warlick, Camille E. Warlick, Olivia L. Sharp, and Georgia G. Sharp; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Miller was born August 15, 1912 in Lula, Hall County, GA. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. His name will be listed with honored veterans of World War II at the World War II Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC. He was a graduate of Lula High School in Lula, GA. He was an avid gardener and a successful poultry farmer. He enjoyed growing vegetables and sharing them with the community. He was a long time member of the Buford First United Methodist Church and in recent years he joined his family at First United Methodist Church of Suwanee, GA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Suwanee with Rev. Michael Martin and Rev. Pat Southerland officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford, GA with military honors by the Buford American Legion Post 127 Honor Guard.
