Opal Thornhill Mullinax, age 74 of Buford, Georgia, died Thursday, April 30, 2009 from an extended illness. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Danny Newbern will officiate. Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford. The Family will receive friends on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 6-9 PM and Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Mullinax is survived by her husband of 54 years Ralph Mullinax, Buford; Children, Rev. Dr. Allen Mullinax and Rev. Dr. Kim Buchanan, Woodstock, Wanda and Jimmy Deaton, Buford, Jeff Mullinax, Buford; Grandchildren, Ben and Gina Deaton, Duluth, Jenny and David Riser, Alpharetta, Hope Mullinax, Buford; Great Grandchildren, Alyssa Riser, Chandler Riser and Norah Deaton; Sister and Brother In-law, Mary and Edwin Floyd, Buford; Brothers In-law, A.J. Mullinax, Buford, John Mullinax, Commerce; Sisters In-law, Carolyn Grindle, Buford, Sue Brantley, Harrison. Mrs. Mullinax was a life long resident of Buford, a graduate of Sugar Hill High School Class of 1953, Class Salutatorian, a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford, a member of the Adult II Sunday School Class, a member of the Church Choir and member of the Ladies Prayer Team.
