SNELLVILLE - The 36th annual Snellville Days Festival celebrating the Gwinnett city and its residents is set to bring out local celebrities this weekend.
The grand marshal for the festival parade, which will kick off at 10 a.m. today, is the reigning Miss Georgia, Kimberly Gittings, a Parkview graduate and a top-15 finalist in the Miss USA Pageant, held in April. South Gwinnett grad Buck Lanford of Fox 5 Sports will serve as master of ceremonies.
The festival's theme this year - "Today, Tomorrow, Forever" - honors Brookwood graduate Amy Robach, the co-anchor of NBC's Saturday "Today" show.
The festival's annual concert will feature The Georgia Satellites this year, while live entertainment will be provided on two stages throughout the two-day event. The festival is also expected to include a kids' area, a petting zoo, pony rides, about 200 craft and food vendors and more.
