SNELLVILLE - Police identified a 52-year-old pedestrian killed in a Saturday night clash with a vehicle as Robin Owens of Snellville.
Investigators believe Owens exited a vehicle driven by someone else about 8:20 p.m. near the intersection of Quinn Ridge Drive and Centerville Highway near Snellville. She attempted to cross Centerville Highway in a section with no crosswalk and was struck by a northbound 1998 Ford Explorer, said Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman. The driver slammed on the brakes but struck Owens just before she reached the edge of the roadway. She died on scene, Spellman said. Investigators don't believe alcohol or speed factored into the incident, she said.More like this story
