ZONING CASES - Action Tacken: Here's a look at the actions taken on rezonings and other requests made of the Gwinnett County Planning Commission at its Tuesday meeting.
1. Tabled until Sept. 15: Rezone 9.54 acres from multi-family residence to general business to expand by 51,800 square feet the Webb Gin Crossings retail development. Location is 1100 block of Scenic Highway. Planning department recommended approval with conditions. RZC-09-001 2. Approved with conditions: Requested special-use permit on 5.1 acres in a general-business district to allow the continued use of an outdoor storage area. Location is the 2300 block of Lawrenceville Highway at the Shannon Oaks shopping center. Planning department recommended approval with conditions. SUP-09-019 3. Approved with conditions: Reconsidered by consent order, a rezoning request on 4.05 acres from highway business to high rise residential to allow for a two-tower, 312 unit, residential high rise development project (The Place at Gwinnett) to be located on the south side of Gwinnett Place Mall at the 3400 block of Gwinnett Place Drive.
