BERKELEY LAKE - The Berkeley Lake City Hall has been temporarily relocated to the Capital Commons office park during construction of the new building and park.
Visitors will need to go to 4729 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Suite A in Berkeley Lake in order to conduct business in person.
Telephone numbers and all other contact information have not changed.
Cell tower construction
City council members voted Thursday to put a proposed cell tower ordinance on second read in preparation for possibly entering into a contract to lease land for tower construction. The proposed 120-foot tower will be located near the new City Hall.
Representatives from Skylink Properties fielded questions from council members Thursday night, many of which centered around aesthetics and environmental concerns.
Council member Debbie Guthrie said she would like more time to consider all the construction options before asking Skylink to proceed with engineering drawings and other planning. City administrator Tom Rozier said a final decision about entering into a contractual agreement will not be made until April.
I-85 toll lane
Berkeley Lake Mayor Lois Salter advised residents to attend public information meetings regarding a proposed 14.3-mile stretch of High Occupancy Toll lane on I-85. The lane would run from south of I-285 to Old Peachtree Road.
The meetings will be held in cooperation with the Atlanta Regional Commission on March 26 (Gwinnett Civic Center), March 31 (Gwinnett Fire Academy AND Senior Connections in Chamblee) and April 2 (Ashiana's Banquet Hall) and April 4 (Discover Mills Mall).
