LILBURN - It was scoreless heading into the bottom of the fourth inning. Then the fun began.
Grayson's baseball team scored nine runs in the sixth, sparking a 15-14 win over Providence on Wednesday.
The Rams (7-3) took the lead on Travis Turner's grand slam. He went 2-for-4. Cory Cronan (4-for-5) drove in four runs and hit a two-run homer in the seventh.
The Stars (3-4-1) hit three homers. Christin Stewart (2-for-3) hit two of them and drove in three runs. Phillip Tuttle hit the other home run. He also had three RBIs, while going 4-for-5. Aaron Epp had two hits and three runs.
Anthony Duran (2-0) was the winning pitcher. Addison McDowell picked up the loss.
Meadowcreek 11, Avondale 0
AVONDALE ESTATES - Ethan Parks pitched a shutout to lead Meadowcreek over Avondale 11-0 in five innings on Wednesday. Parks (3-1) struck out eight and gave up four hits. Juan Lopez went 4-for-4 with four RBIs for the Mustangs (5-3). Cory Huck went 2-for-3. Cameron Shafer added an RBI.
Mill Creek 8, Dacula 1
DACULA - Johnny Knight hit two homers as Mill Creek knocked off Dacula 8-1 on Wednesday. Knight went 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBIs, along with a solo homer and two-run blast.
Travis Hammond went 3-for-4 with three runs, and Jerad Curry and Jake German each went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Hawks (4-2)
Brian Holmes (2-1) struck out 10 to earn the win. He allowed one earned run and eight hits. Zach Breaux (1-2) was the losing pitcher.
Tyler Jarvis, Jeremy Kien, and Brad Mills each had two hits for the Falcons (4-4). Austin Meyer drove in Dacula's only run.
Peachtree Ridge 11, Central 1
SUWANEE - Chris Brunatti hit a solo homer to end the game in the sixth inning as Peachtree Ridge beat Central Gwinnett 11-1 on Wednesday. Brunatti finished 2-for-3 with a double for the Lions (5-3).
Jelaney Johnson went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Mitchell Williford (1-for-3) also drove in a pair of runs.
Nathan Chong (1-0) allowed one unearned run through four innings to get the win. He struck out three and gave up two hits. Justin Goetz pitched two scoreless innings of relief.
South 7, Collins Hill 2
SNELLVILLE - Sean Handlan struck out 10 in South Gwinnett's 7-2 win over Collins Hill over Wednesday. Handlan (2-1) gave up two earned runs and three hits in 62/3 innings. Kenny Sanderson had three hits and two runs for the Comets (4-3). Aaron Jividen also had three hits and an RBI. Brett Teschner drove in two runs. Kyle Maloney and Kevin Caldwell each had an RBI.
Berkmar 10, Cedar Shoals 2
ATHENS - Jimmie Drake hit a home run and pitched six strong innings to lead Berkmar in a 10-2 win over Cedar Shoals on Wednesday. Drake struck out five and allowed two earned runs. He also went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Patriots (4-4). Jarrett Riviera added a two-run homer. Xaviir Briggs had two hits and scored three runs.
Northview 6, Brookwood 4
DULUTH - Ronnie Freeman hit two home runs, but Brookwood lost to Northview 6-4. Freeman hit a solo shot and three-run blast for the Broncos (4-3). He went 2-for-3. Chris Paul was 3-for-4, while Wade Brogdon had a pair of hits.
Jacob Beauchamp (0-1) was the losing pitcher.
Stephens Co. 2, Buford 1
TOCCOA - Josh Rudnik pitched six solid innings in a 2-1 Buford loss to Stephens County on Wednesday. Rudnik (1-1) pitched a complete game. He allowed two runs, one earned, three hits, and struck out five for the Wolves (5-4). Michael May had two hits. Brian Clark drove in Buford's only run.
Collins Hill's Rajek ties school record in win
MONROE - Jackie Rajek tied the school record, set by her teammate last year, in a 77-95 win over Grayson at the Providence Club on Wednesday. Rajek fired an even-par round of 36 to lead the Eagles. That ties the record set in 2008 by Lauren Court.
Court shot a 41 for Collins Hill on Wednesday.
Tori Van Wyen fired a 46 to lead the Rams.
Burger leads Mill Creek over Oconee
STATHAM - Both Mill Creek golfers finished with rounds in the 30s in a 74-82 win over Oconee County at the Georgia Club on Wednesday. Emilie Burger shot an even-par round of 36 to lead the Hawks. Jennifer Nam added a 38.
Providence beats Buford
BRASELTON - Providence took care of Buford 93-113 at Chateau Elan on Wednesday. Lindsay Meredith led the Stars with a 44. Chelsea Fohl finished with a 55 for the Wolves.
Duluth takes care of Shiloh
LAWRENCEVILLE - Duluth beat Shiloh 105-138 at Northwood Country Club on Wednesday. Heeron Chae shot a 51 to lead the Wildcats. Chelsea Yearos had a 54 to lead the Generals.
Dacula gets win over South
DACULA - Dacula edged out South Gwinnett 112-122 on Wednesday at the Trophy Club of Apalachee. Kady Clark fired a 50 to lead the Falcons. Marla Rooker and Anna Zwicky each had 61s for the Stars.
Grayson holds off Collins Hill
MONROE - Grayson defeated Collins Hill 166-170 on Wednesday at the Providence Club. Tyler Carr led the Rams with a 40. Trent Burkenpas added a 41. The low man for Collins Hill was Chris Rajek, who shot a 40. Andrew Sterritt added a 41.
Deep Duluth team defeats Shiloh
LAWRENCEVILLE - Four players shot 40 or better for Duluth in a 159-209 win over Shiloh on Wednesday at Northwood Country Club. Scottie Marsh led the Wildcats with a 39. Justin Eckard, Justin Cho, and Seol Bin Mun all added 40s.
Lee Laughner led the Generals with a 44.
Dacula handles South
DACULA - Dacula moved to 5-0 in Region 8-AAAAA with a 134-190 win over South Gwinnett on Wednesday at the Trophy Club of Apalachee. T.J. Shingelton led the Falcons with a 41. Matt Dromm had a 51 to lead the Comets.
Buford knocks off Providence
BRASELTON - Buford held off Providence 176-183 on Wednesday. Patrick Hall led the Wolves with a 41. Mookie DeMoss' 42 was the low round for the Stars.
North Gwinnett 5, Dacula 0
DACULA - North Gwinnett shut out Dacula 5-0 in a non-region match on Wednesday. Amanda Wickman, Chelsea Koch and Taylor Clark swept the singles matches for the Bulldogs (8-3, 4-1).
Nicole Koch and Caitlin Nedeau won the No. 1 doubles, while Maggie Dudacek and Caroline Bogue won at No. 2.
Mill Creek 4, Parkview 1
LILBURN - Mill Creek defeated Parkview 4-1 on Wednesday. Michelle Yau, Kristy Yau and Mallory Kolts swept the singles matches for the Hawks (10-3). Stacy Mottesheard and Nela Handac won at No. 1 doubles.
Norcross 4, North Forsyth 1
CUMMING - Norcross beat North Forsyth 4-1 in Region 7-AAAAA play on Wednesday. The No. 1 pair of Tracy Bain and Cameryn Massey led the doubles sweep for the Blue Devils (8-4, 3-2). Hannah Feldman and Lauren Monacelli won the No. 2 match. In singles, No. 2 Nicole Northrup and No. 3 Audrey Engelhaupt won for Norcross.
Flowery Branch 3, Central 2
FLOWERY BRANCH - Central Gwinnett lost to Flowery Branch 3-2 on Wednesday. Shirley Ann Bas won at No. 2 singles for the Black Knights (5-7). Jennifer Hollingsworth and Megan Jackson earned a point in the No. 1 doubles match.
Parkview 4, Mill Creek 1
LILBURN - Parkview swept the singles matches in a 4-1 win over Mill Creek on Wednesday. Thomas Cook, Ethan Motz and Lance Mengel all earned points for the Panthers (8-3). Kirk Arza and Tony Tran took care of the No. 1 doubles match.
St. Pius 5, GAC 2
ATLANTA - Greater Atlanta Christian School lost to St. Pius, No. 1 in AAA, 5-2 on Wednesday. Anna Douglas and Madeline Barker scored goals for the Spartans (10-2). Chelsea Gandy-Cromer had an assist.

ATLANTA - Greater Atlanta Christian slipped past St. Pius 2-1 on Wednesday. Richard Klemm and Chris Thomas each scored goals for the Spartans (9-2). Stewart Abrahart added an assist. John Max Bolling was the winning goalie.
