Donald Jackson Muse

Donald (Don) Jackson Muse, 81, of Duluth, GA, died March 17, 2009. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21st, at Norcross First United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Bowdon Baptist Church City Cemetery, Bowdon, GA. The family will receive friends Friday, March 20th, from 1:00-3:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross. Mr. Muse, a native of Carroll Co., GA, was a U.S. Army veteran who served with the Parachute Infantry in Japan and retired from Atlanta Steel Co. as Plant Manager after 41 years of service. He was a member of Norcross First United Methodist Church and the New Life Sunday School Class. He was one of the founding members and owners of Berkeley Hills Country Club and a member of The Wire Association International. Mr. Muse played baseball with the LaGrange Troopers, a farm team of the New York Yankees, and with the Dixie Steel team of Atlantic Steel Co. He is survived by his wife, Frances Muse of Duluth; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Stanley (Stan) and Dianne Muse of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Don Muse, Julie & Rick Casey, and Maggie Muse; great-grandchildren, Leslie & Austen Casey; children, Dr. Allen & Vicki Bowns, Elicia & Joe Thompson, and Bobby & Eva Bowns; grandchildren, Ansleigh, Caroline, Brianna and Reese Bowns, Savannah & Joseph Thompson, Robbie & Maryanne Bowns; brother, Jerry & Sue Muse of Tallapoosa; and several nieces and nephews.
