W.O. Brannan, 86, of Flowery Branch, GA, died March 15, 2009. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18th, at Johns Creek Baptist Church, with the body lying-in-state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 17th, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Brannan was a retired U.S. Navy Captain and veteran of W.W. II and worked in sales for the Life Insurance Company of Georgia. He was a member and deacon emeritus at Johns Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Progressive Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Brannan of Flowery Branch; children, William L. “Pete” Brannan and his wife, Noel of McDonough, Yvonne Brannan Parker and her husband, David of Suwanee, Tandy Thomas Brannan, II, and his wife, Sally of Dacula, Owen F. Brannan and his wife, Kim of Martinez, James L. “Jim” Brannan and his wife, Susan of Flowery Branch, Kaycie Brannan Maddox and her husband, Gil of Athens, and Joseph M. “Buddy” Brannan and his wife, Blair of Gainesville; brothers, L.R. Brannon of Jonesboro, T.W. Brannon and his wife, Phyllis of Memphis, TN; sister, Marguerite Brannon Freeman and her husband, Paul of Gainesville; 31 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
