Prep Roundup: Grayson shuts out North Cobb

GRAYSON - Scott King was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs to help Grayson shut out North Cobb 6-0 on Wednesday.

Bryan Benzor threw a complete game, picking up the win after giving up only four hits, and striking out seven batters for the Rams.

Nick Benzor went 1-for-2 with an RBI, Joey Larocca was 2-for-3 and Will Kimmell finished 1-for-3 with an RBI for Grayson (2-1).


Peachtree Ridge 3, East Paulding 1

SUWANEE - Tyler Techo got the win in relief after pitching two innings, giving up no hits and striking out one to help Peachtree Ridge pick up a win over East Paulding on Wednesday.

Aidan McLaughlin threw four innings and gave up two hits and struck out 10 batters for the Lions. Nathan Chong went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Chris Brunatti was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Brandon Harwood went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Peachtree Ridge (2-1).

Dacula 7, Winder-Barrow 1

DACULA - Zach Breaux (1-0) got the win after throwing five innings, allowing a run on a hit and a walk, and striking out seven batters as Dacula took a 7-1 victory over Winder-Barrow on Wednesday.

Austin Meyer hit a solo home run, while Brad Mills went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Dacula. Marshall Steed finished 2-for-3, Billy Judd went 1-for-2 with an RBI and Tyler Jarvis was 1-for-2 for Dacula (2-1).

Lassiter 4, North 0

SUWANEE - North Gwinnett (0-1) fell to Lassiter 4-0 on Wednesday.

Wyatt Brown pitched 41/3 innings, gave up four unearned runs, three walks and struck out six batters for North.

Providence 7, MLK 1

ATLANTA - Chris Wages went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and a double to help Providence to a 7-1 win over M.L. King on Wednesday.

Christin Stewart was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs, while Austin Barry picked up the win for Providence. Barry pitched four innings, gave up two hits, walked two and struck out five for the Stars (1-0-1).

Wesleyan 6, Buford 5

BUFORD - Brent Pugh got the win on the mound after pitching an 11/3 innings and giving up no earned runs as Wesleyan took a 6-5 win over Buford on Wednesday.

At the plate Pugh was 3-for-3 with three runs, Conor Welton was 2-for-3 with two runs, and J.J. Russell contributed two hits for Wesleyan (3-1).

Sprayberry 5, Duluth 4

MARIETTA - Duluth fell to Sprayberry 5-4 on Wednesday.

Blake Birdsong got the loss after pitching an inning. Evan Dumas struck out three and gave up a run for the Wildcats.

Duluth's Stephen Robins was 2-for-4 with an RBI, while John Clark and David Matton each went 1-for-2. Jacob Jordan was 1-for-3 for the Wildcats (1-1).


Parkview 4, Salem 0

LILBURN - Kofi Gyawu scored two goals and had an assist to help Parkview shut out Salem 4-0 on Wednesday.

Mark Brugh also contributed two goals, and Trond Liu had an assist for the Panthers. Jack Falle and Kyle Post shared duty in goal for Parkview (4-1).

Peachtree Ridge 1,Grayson 0

GRAYSON - Steven Quintero scored the only goal of the game as the Lions shut out Grayson 1-0 on Wednesday.

Mitch Kupstas got the shutout in goal for Peachtree Ridge (7-0).

Grayson 2, Peachtree Ridge 1

GRAYSON - Grayson took a 2-1 win against Peachtree Ridge on Wednesday.

Hannah Norwood and Rebecca Allen each scored a goal for Grayson (6-0-1), while Samantha Lange and Shayna Rogers each had an assist.

Christine Watts scored Peachtree Ridge's (6-1) only goal, with the assist by Alexis Scott.

Parkview 5, Salem 0

LILBURN - Parkview (5-0) shut out Salem 5-0 on Wednesday.

Kim Spence and Kiki Nelson each scored two goals for Parkview. Kristina Pascutti added a goal and had an assist. Spence, Taylor Jackson, Ashley Stanczak and Elena Karakizis each had an assist for Parkview (5-0). Chelsea Ramsey and Margarie Hammond combined in goal for the shutout.


Collins Hill 5, Dacula 0

SUWANEE - Collins Hill (4-3) swept Dacula 5-0 on Wednesday.

Ryan Maloney, Tommy Daniels and Tyler Anderson won singles matches for the Eagles (4-3). Richard Rumble and Andy Murphy won at No. 1 doubles and Chris Clark and Tyler Kallgren earned a point at No. 2 doubles.

Parkview 5, Heritage 0

CONYERS - Winning at singles were Thomas Cook, Ethan Motz and Lance Mengel, helping Parkview beat Heritage 5-0 on Wednesday.

Tony Tran and Kirk Arza took care of No. 1 doubles, and Brandon Patrick and Christopher Jones earned a point at No. 2 doubles for the Panthers (5-2).


Collins Hill 5, Dacula 0

SUWANEE - Collins Hill swept Dacula 5-0 to get to .500 on Wednesday.

The singles winners were Emily Orist, Erin Ensley and Cassie Owensby. Kaitlin Torke and partner Abby Owensby won at No. 1 doubles, while Jessica Pham and Maddie Owensby earned a point at No. 2 doubles for Collins Hill (4-4).

Parkview 5, Heritage 0

CONYERS - Parkview earned a 5-0 victory over Heritage on Wednesday.

Kara Motz, Megan Nelms and Jordan DeArmon swept their singles matches. Rebecca Streich and Anna Fluevog won at No. 1 doubles, and Amanda Bantug and Alex Vagasi took care of No. 2 doubles for Parkview (5-2).

South 5, Loganville 2

LOGANVILLE - South Gwinnett beat Loganville 5-2 in a college format match on Wednesday.

Taylor Donahoo, Catherine Zuber, Ansley Kane, Brooke Buker and Ashley Moeller each earned a point for the Comets (2-3) in singles matches.


Norcross beats Collins Hill

DULUTH - Eric Quinn shot a 39 to help Norcross (2-0) take a 161-180 victory over Collins Hill at Berkeley Hills Country Club on Wednesday.

Ryan Trocchio and Josh Klipstein each totaled a 40 for Norcross, and Chris Rajek shot a 40 for Collins Hill.

Grayson defeats Parkview

SNELLVILLE - Chris Enix and Matt Kidder each shot a low score of 39 to help the Rams (3-2) take a 164-177 win over Parkview at Summit Chase on Wednesday.

Ted Moon shot a 39 and Michael Stolorena added a 42 for the Panthers (0-2).

Dacula tops Shiloh

DACULA - Dacula (2-0) beat Shiloh 170-234 at the Trophy Club of Apalachee on Wednesday.

Tate Gardner show a low of 38 and James McMillan shot a 41 for Dacula.


Collins Hill tops Norcross

DULUTH - Lauren Court had a low score of 46 to help Collins Hill take a 93-122 win over Norcross on Wednesday.

Jackie Rajek shot a 47 for Collins Hill and Katie Bostick shot a 56 for Norcross.


Wesleyan 13, Holy Innocents' 6

ATLANTA - Taylor Grice made 18 saves in goal to help the Wolves top Holy Innocents' 13-6 on Wednesday.

Drew Daniels scored three goals and Bobby Fulton added two goals and had four assists. Hunter Hartwell had two goals and two assists, while Davis Brown chipped in two more goals for Wesleyan (3-1).


Kell 19, Peachtree Ridge 8

ATLANTA - Erin Palanza had 18 saves in goal for Peachtree Ridge, but the Lions fell to Kell 19-8 on Wednesday.

Sarah Bilodeau and Alex Crawford each scored three goals, while Jennifer Hennelly and Kristyn Nock each contributed a goal apiece for Peachtree Ridge (1-3).


North 6, Forsyth 4

DULUTH - Cody Ballas made 31 saves in goal to help North Gwinnett defeat Forsyth 6-4 on Monday night.

Brandon Dolan scored two goals for North, while Boom Nuanual, Conor McLaughlin, Will Galucki and John Konsowitz each scored a goal for the Ice Dogs.
