LAWRENCEVILLE - The Gwinnett County Association of Educators is sponsoring a reading of Dr. Seuss books Saturday at Barnes and Noble stores at the Mall of Georgia and near the Gwinnett Place Mall.
The readings, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will celebrate the National Education Association's Read Across America campaign, designed to motivate children to read by making it fun. Monday was Read Across America Day, which takes place on Dr. Seuss' birthday. Many Gwinnett County schools planned celebrations for this week. Since its inception in 1997, Read Across America has grown into the nation's largest reading celebration with more than 45 million people participating annually. The Gwinnett County Association of Educators is an affiliate of the Georgia Association of Educators and the National Education Association.
