LILBURN - The scenario surrounding the shooting deaths of two 33-year-old men last week remained murky Tuesday.
Homicide investigators are trying to determine how Erthis James, of Covington, and Teodolo Pacheco-Palacios, whose last know address was Snellville, were shot to death Friday at a Lilburn home in the tucked-away Village Green neighborhood.
An anonymous tipster called 911 about 10 p.m. that night to report a shooting at the low-lying, brick home at 530 Village Green Court, located off Arcado Road.
The men died on scene before officers arrived.
Exactly how bullets came to fly - and who shot whom - is under investigation, said Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman.
She said no viable information as to suspects or a potential get-away car could be released.
Spellman wouldn't say if either of the victims were armed, or what may have brought them to the residence.
"It doesn't appear that either victim lived there," she said.
Neighbors said the home, which sat vacant Tuesday afternoon, is usually occupied by renters. The property's owner could not be reached for comment.
Police have no recent records of responding to the address before, Spellman said.
Investigators urge anyone with information about the double homicide to contact them at 770-513-5300.
