ZONING CASES - ON THE AGENDA: Here's a look at the actions taken on rezonings and other requests made of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners at its meeting Tuesday.

1. Approved with conditions: Buffer reduction from 75 to 27.5 feet in C-2 zone for 0.93-acre tract of land. Location is the 5100 block of Stone Mountain Highway. Planning department and planning commission recommended approval with conditions. BRD-09-001

2. Tabled until May 26: Rezone and special-use permit requests for 8.96 acres of land from R-100 to O-I for 141,596-square-foot day care center and assisted living facility, and to allow a building height increase to four stories. Location is 5700 block of Spalding Drive. Planning department recommended approval with conditions. RZC-08-084 and SUP-08-066 and SUP-08-067 and SUP-08-068

3. Deny without prejudice: Requested special-use permit in a general business district to allow for a 3,000-square-foot, full-service car wash on 7.24 acres. Location is the 3600 block of Centerville Highway and the intersection with the 3600 block of Campbell Road. The planning department and planning commission recommended approval with conditions. SUP-08-089

4. Tabled until March 17: Special-use permit in M-2 zone for 18,500-square-foot solid waste transfer station. Location is 100 block of Alcovy Industrial Boulevard. Planning department recommended approval with conditions. Planning commission offered no recommendation. SUP-09-007

5. Approved with conditions: Applicant requests the renewal of a special-use permit for a 0.58-acre tract zoned general business district (C-2) to allow for the continued use of an automobile service center. The property is located at the 500 block of Braselton Highway. The planning department recommended denial. The planning commission recommended approval with conditions. SUP-09-009

6. Tabled until May 26: Special-use permit in C-2 zone for 2,500-square-foot coin laundry. Location is the 6400 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and the 6900 block of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Planning department recommended approval with conditions. SUP-09-010

8. Approved with conditions: Requesting change in conditions in C-2 for 2,480-square-foot auto service and metal risers and to allow an automobile service. Location is 6600 block of Buford Highway. 9. Approved with conditions: Rezone 73.52 acres from C-2, M-1 & R-100 to MUO for 351,000-square-foot commercial, 617,000-square-foot office, 610 residential units and 300 hotel rooms. Locations are 2400-2600 Buford Drive, 1000 block of Old Peachtree Road, 1100 block of Rock Springs Road, 2400 block of Tech Center Parkway and Drive.
