The Collins Hill 10U boys recently won the Gwinnett County championship.
The Eagles defeated the Mill Creek Red 11-10 to clinch the title.
Team members are James Civelli, Mark Flores, Monty Horn, Austin Jett, Brett Jones, Ryan Jones, Bradley Kallgren, Porter Richards, Adam Roos, Nicholas Topoleski and Jon Wyatt. The team is coached by Ted Kallgren, Tony Flores, Jimmy Richards and Tom Topoleski.
North Gwinnett wins GGBL championship
The North Gwinnett Bulldogs 9U travel team, of the Greater Gwinnett Baseball League, won the league tournament June 7.
The Bulldogs came into the tournament as the No. 4 seed and defeated the No. 2 seeded Mill Creek Hawks 7-5 to remain unbeaten in the tournament.
Team members are Davis Barlow, Djialon Forbes, Chandler Retsky, Justin Burney, Eric Biederman, P.J. Lynch, Will Baselj, Kevin Lopez, Matthew Rusch, Matt Gordon and Walker Cleveland. The team is coached by Alan Cleveland, Tom Lynch, Jon Barlow, Brian Rusch and Alfred Forbes.
Dacula Pee-Wee wins district crown
The Dacula Pee-Wee boys won the district championship, earning a trip to the state championships.
Team members are Austin Bales, Chase Dixon, Colby Elbers, Cris Linkowski, Justin Lozano, Michael Moulder, Robbie Petty, Blake Rice, Dylan Sadler, Cain Tatum, Avery Truax and Jacob Via. The team is coached by Mike Moulder, John Petty, Mike Rice and Brandon Sadler.
Wildcats earn trip to state
The Duluth Wildcats 12U all-star team won the Division 7 championship to earn a spot in the state tournament on July 18 in Covington.
Team members are Cole Carter, Cooper Colson, Jim Deitsch, Darius Harris, Trey Harris, Jose Landeros, Khalil Muhammad, Richard Nunez, Chase Parker, Brendon Perez, Nicholas Wimmer and Kyle Yancey. The team is coached by Steve Wimmer, Erik Carter, Shelton Colson and Mike Harris.
Duluth team reaches title game
The Heart and Hustle 14U YBOA girls basketball team, which is based out of Duluth, reached the championship game of the Forest City Invitational.
Team members are Melissa Turvy, Hannahkohl Almire, Erika Gotfredson, Alexis Keskonis, Meghan Mitchell, Skyler Brody, Aerial Carruthers, Julianne Bayer, Keisha Washington, Lindsey Johnson and Chandlor Nolan. The team is coached by Everett Scales.
Georgia Battlecats prove strong in Oklahoma
The 96 Georgia Battlecats had a strong showing in Oklahoma for the Hall of Fame Tournament. The team finished 3-2 with an impressive win over the No. 1 team from Florida, the Osceola Overdrive, outscoring the opposition 11-0.
Team members are Chase Battle, Alyssa Dasher, Danna Downs, Amanda Berry, Holly Martin, Hannah Medlem, Courtney Condon, Taiylor Rinehart, Ansley Jones, Mason Garland and Jessie Oates. The team is coached by Vance Medlem, Scott Jones, Guy Battle, Kelly Rinehart, Debbie Berry and Mike Dasher.
Duluth girls travel team wins championship
The Duluth Wildcats select team won the GSA Georgia State Championship on June 14 in Dallas. The Wildcats beat the Lawrenceville Lady Wildcats 12-2 en route to their title.
Team members are Jeanie Perrucci, Tony Perrucci, McKenna Rogness, Reina Sycamore, Lauren Blanco, Shuntarius Jefferson, Kala Brown, Mary Johnson, Ali Cole, Kelly Quigley, Megan Sheridan and Allie Raez. The team is coached by Mario Perrucci.
North claims Tri-County title
The North Gwinnett 10U fastpitch softball all-stars, playing out of George Pierce Park in Suwanee, won the Tri-County tournament June 21.
It is the first time that a North Gwinnett team has won the tournament in the 10U age division. The Bulldogs beat the Buford Wolves 11-6 to bring home the title. It's the third tournament championship for the Bulldogs, who also won the South Gwinnett Summer Classic and the Pre-Tri County Tournament.
Team members are Beth Ginsberg, Grace Rigsbee, Carly Gustafson, Angela Raez, Jordan Hyndshaw, Megan Smorch, Bridgette Froebel, Sarah Venza, Haley Griffith, Emily Chiacchira, Courtney Smith and Kathleen Wilson. The team is coached by Mitchell Ginsberg, Steve Hyndshaw, Ellen Gustafson, Rick Rigsbee and Tom Chiacchira.
Norcross Fury Gold win state championship
The Under-18 Norcross Fury 91 won the state championship series. With this win, they punched their ticket to the U.S. Youth Soccer Region III Championships at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.
GSA has strong showing at championships
The GSA 93 Phoenix Red had four teams win the U.S. youth soccer Georgia state championships.
The 16U boys, the 16U girls, the 17U boys and the 17U girls each won their respective championships. With the wins, each team will compete in the Region III championships.
Atlanta Fire United wins state cup
The Atlanta Fire United U13 girls soccer team recently won the U.S. youth soccer Georgia state cup. After a long five-day tournament, AFU defeated their rivals from Buckead 2-0 to win the title.
The team includes Caroline Gualdoni, Haley Jackson, Delaney Fechalos, Lauren Pinion, Monica Bailey, Ali Valero, Maddie Burdick, Sanna LeVine, Gracie Frericks, Emily Kuelbs, Mary Fitzpatrick, Grace Damaska, Meridith Carson, Peyton Sedgwick and Jordan Salvador. The team is coached by Denny Jenkins.
U-18 boys Norcross soccer wins second GYSA title
The Gwinnett County U18 boys Norcross soccer team won the Georgia Youth Soccer Association state championship in Columbus.
This is the second year in a row they have claimed this title. The team coasted through the playoffs, outscoring their opponents 18-1.
Team members are Malick Camara, Caulin Collier, Alex Crooks, Eric Fletcher, Saudin Garanovic, Kofi Gyawu, Zack Johnson, Enrique Miranda, Eddie Nam, Jarrod Neser, Michael Recchia, Adam Schraudenback, Matt Starks, Chris Thomas, Will Whorton, Eric Wierzbinski and Theo Yang. The team is coached by Tony Annan.
