Edward Meredith Schoeck

Edward Meredith Schoeck, age 83 of Sugar Hill, passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2009. Born December 20, 1925 in East Orange, NJ, Ed joined the Marine Corps in 1943 and served in Southeast Asia during WW II. He married Marion Hertzel on June 2, 1951 and they had three children. Ed was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cumming, Ga. He had a passion for cooking, was an avid soccer enthusiast and enjoyed hot air ballooning. Ed spent his retired years continuing his love for cooking and was a fixture at the Publix Bakery in Sugar Hill. Ed Schoeck is preceded in death by his son, Stephen Richard Schoeck of Waltham, MA, his parents and two brothers. Ed is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marion Schoeck, daughter Carol Fillingim and son Richard Schoeck, 7 grandchildren and one great-grandson. A memorial service honoring the life of Edward Schoeck will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cumming, GA.
