LAWRENCEVILLE - A Lawrenceville man accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian Sunday with a Ford F350 and fleeing the scene was arrested on charges including driving under the influence, a Lawrenceville Police Department sergeant said Monday.
Constantin Toncz, 39, faces charges of vehicular homicide in the first degree, felony hit and run, and driving under the influence, Sgt. Chris D. Ralston said. Sabrina Stanek, 25, of Lawrenceville, died after she was struck about 9:15 p.m. Sunday in front of 68 Belmont Lane, in a subdivision off U.S. Highway 29 near Hosea Road, Ralston said. Jail records list two addresses for Toncz, one of which is on Belmont Lane. Police found the abandoned red Ford pickup truck about 500 feet from where Stanek was hit, Ralston said. Witnesses identified the driver as Toncz, who fled on foot. Toncz is being held in the Gwinnett County Detention Center.More like this story
